Pro Soccer Player Adopts Stray Dog Who Interrupted His Game
A Bolivian soccer player adopts stray dog after it played with the team during a match. When you’re a huge fan of someone, you always have that desire to be close to them, right? You can’t explain why that feeling would arise whenever you would see them. All you know is, you want to grab every single opportunity to know more about them.
Such is the case of a stray dog who decided to put matters into her own paws while watching a game between Nacional Potosí and The Strongest. The match was held at the Hernando Siles Stadium on the 24th of December in La Paz, Bolivia.
Stealing the show
Intent on watching the game, the pooch was watching the game for a good number of minutes when it suddenly had a lightbulb moment. Intrigued by the action, she saw the two teams kicking the ball across the field and decided to join in on the fun. Spotting a football boot which she found lying on the ground, she walked to the sidelines and played with the boot.
Unaware, the fluff ball was having a little too much fun; she didn’t notice she was already running on the field with the other players. Some of them got distracted, making it difficult for them to perform well during the game. The referees had to halt the game and ask someone to take the dog out of the field.
Well known professional soccer player Raul Castro, a player from the home team, rushed towards the dog and gave her a few belly rubs. He then carried the dog, whose eyes were fixed on him, to the sidelines. After making sure she’s safe, Castro went back on the field and finished the game.
Fur-ever home for the homeless
Days after the tournament, Castro learned that the dog had been hit by a vehicle. She was in terrible shape, and things weren’t looking good for her. Castro rushed to the shelter she was staying at and processed her adoption papers. To see what went down during their first meeting, watch the video below:
