When he retired from this job, Ray adopted a cute dog named Max.
Since then, Ray only thinks of the dog’s welfare above anything else. Max is now 14 years. Recently, the dog saves life of neighbor by barking to alert owner.
Ray’s rescue skills were again tested after hearing pleas for help from the neighborhood. This happened when Ray’s dog continuously barked in the wee hours of the morning. Ray scolded Max and told the dog to stop barking because people are already sleeping. Despite Ray’s reminder, Max continued barking, so the dog owner thought there could be something wrong.
True enough, when Ray turned off the television, he heard screams coming from a neighbor’s house.
It was a woman crying out for help, so Ray immediately went there to lend a helping hand. It turned out that Ray’s neighbor, a senior citizen, fell out of bed and hurt herself.
When Ray arrived at the poor woman’s house, he immediately helped the woman to her bed. He then called 911 so that the woman would receive the necessary medical help. Fortunately, members of the Novi Fire Department were quick enough to respond. The injured woman was taken to a nearby hospital.
Without the help of Max the woman could have died.
At the hospital, the doctors mentioned that the old woman could have died if not for Ray’s timely rescue. Although Ray accepts the accolade, he said that he would not be able to do it without Max.
He felt that Max deserves the credit because if not for the dog’s continuous barking, he would not hear the woman’s scream. As a result, the dog saves life of neighbor.
Max has become the hero of the neighborhood. When Ray is out walking with Max, people stop and chat and to say how impressed they are with Max’s ability to alert Ray to problems such as when neighbor fell.
The neighbor often asks Ray to visit with Max. She loves to see him and give pats of heartfelt thanks.
