Awesome Dog Cafe Created For Local Neighborhood Dogs
Six years ago, Kaya Kristina noticed that dogs in her neighborhood looked thirsty and tired. Kaya lives right next door to High Park, a popular public garden in Toronto. Many dogs spend time playing there and they looked like they needed a little pick-me-up after their games. Kaya then put out some water and a sign that said, “For thirsty dogs” in front of her home. This was the beginning for something to come that would be more rewarding for the neighborhood dogs, an Awesome Dog Cafe.
Dogs and their owners appreciated this small act of kindness. Pretty soon, Kaya received a card from a happy dog owner. It was a picture of a dog and a thank you note written from the dog’s perspective. The card made Kaya really happy.

Kaya then decided to keep giving the neighborhood dogs water. She also kept receiving thank you notes in return. When the pandemic struck last year, Kaya decided to take her little watering station to the next level. She decided to leave some treats along with the water. The idea of the awesome dog cafe was born.
After all, dogs and their owners need support during this trying time. That’s when StarPups Coffee was launched.
StarPups Coffee – the Awesome Dog Cafe
Kaya made the little dog café for the neighborhood dogs. She made a bunch of mini treat bags and a cute little menu so dog owners know what to give to their dog. She felt very happy whenever she saw dogs pulling their owners towards the small dog café she set up. The café had milk-bones, specialty all-natural treats, and water.
One day, however, Kaya saw that someone stole her entire café. Fortunately, all the dog owners she helped through the years were there to support her. Kaya received gift cards, supportive notes, photos of happy dogs, and other heartwarming things. This support encouraged Kaya to rebuild StarPups Coffee.
Currently, Kaya wants to make StarPups even better. She’s creating a more permanent setup that’s also weatherproof. She wants local dogs to get treats even when it snows or rains.
