Dog Trainer Made Handling A Problematic Dog With Ease.
Aggressive dogs are often judged and misunderstood. Most people fail to realize that the owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior. Famous dog trainer Cesar Millan proves this fact every time he meets a client. He makes handling a problematic dog look easy.
One day Cesar worked with a dog owner named Steve and his rottweiler named Shadow. Steve’s dog has a history of attacking other dogs and seriously injuring them. The worst incident was when a dog put its head between their gate, and Shadow bit and latched on to that dog.
Getting Help From Popular Dog Trainer
Steve was afraid that Shadow might be taken away from him. His reputation in his neighborhood is at risk if his dog ends up killing another dog. In the act of desperation, he had no other choice but to call Cesar.
During the initial observation, Cesar noticed the mistakes Steve was making when walking with Shadow. He still uses a cable leash with a pronged collar, which was popular in East Los Angeles. According to Cesar, that type of collar can agitate the dog even further instead of calming them down.
Cable Leash Replaced With Rope Leash
Cesar replaced the cable leash with a rope leash that made it easier for him to maneuver Shadow. He also gave Steve instructions on how to position himself properly when walking with his dog. According to Cesar, if the dog is taking the lead, that’s when the problem starts. Shadow must be walking by Steve’s side, not ahead of him.
Cesar demonstrated walking Shadow while a German shepherd was nearby. When Shadow tried to lunge, Cesar immediately corrected him. In a matter of seconds, Shadow was walking with Cesar without any fuss.
Cesar gives emphasis on the fact that the owner’s size plays no role when handling a dog. What matters is how an owner makes the dog understand through body language that they are the leader.
At the very end of the important training session, Steve was utterly amazed by how Cesar easily handled his dog. Watch the video to see!
