Two injured pitbull dogs lay on a busy highway.
Two police officers were traveling along a busy highway. One of the officers, Officer Patrick Hensey was looking forward to arriving home after a busy shift. It was the early hours of the morning.
As they traveled along, Officer Hensey didn’t expect to see two dogs shivering in the cold on the side of the highway.
Even though the police officers were tired, they stopped to investigate. The two dogs were huddled close together. It was evident, on a closer look that the two dogs were injured. They were young pitbulls
Back up help was called
Promptly Officer Hensey called the nearest police station for dispatch, and they sent two officers to help. Within no time the two police arrived. They saw that one pitbull was bleeding profusely.
We all need some kind of help at some time in our lives. Hopefully for many of us it is there when we need it. That’s exactly what happened to the two injured pitbull dogs, help was there when they needed it.
The two injured pitbull dogs stayed together
Consequently, it was the kind-hearted officers who saved them. Amazingly, the officers wondered about the way the dogs stuck together. It’s hard to imagine how long they would have survived if the police officers hadn’t rescued them.
Afterwards, a local animal shelter took them in and named the pitbulls, Liberty and Justice. They hoped the dogs would be re-homed to a loving home once they were healthy again. When Officer Hensey and his partner visits them it’s evident the dog’s happiness at seeing them.
Dogs never forget
They say that dogs never forget, and true enough, both pitbulls didn’t fail to show their affection to their police friends. It’s safe to say that wherever they go, these police officers will always be in their hearts.
Consequently, as the dogs recovered, the rescue shelter workers fell in love with both dogs. Significantly, we can imagine how tough it will be for the workers to say goodbye when the time comes.
Ultimately, the police officer could have driven past the dogs but their kind heartedness made them stop to help the injured dogs.
